Tax Treatment

Organizations—including universities, publishers, and other entities—that provide financial support to ASR through sponsorships, donations, or by covering membership or registration fees for employees may not deduct these contributions as charitable donations. However, these expenses may qualify as ordinary and necessary business expenses if they are directly related to the organization’s operations or mission.
